Bunka No Hi

Sunday, November 4, 2025. Bunka no Hi is back for 2025! This year’s event will explore “Finding New Beauty – Artful Mending”, focusing on ways that broken items can be repaired or upcycled in a functional, yet visually appealing way. Come to the JCCCW on Sunday, November 2nd between 11 AM and 5 PM. Participants can learn about various traditional arts, from kintsugi with Jen Lo, sashiko with Shannon and Jason, and kogin-zashi with Satomi Toraya!

Guests will also have the opportunity to enjoy demonstrations such as sumo by Rain City Sumo, tea ceremony by East-West Chanoyu Center, and shakuhachi by Patrick Johnson. We’ll once again be joined by Tokara Confectionery and Kozmo Kitchen, who will have food available for purchase during the event (while supplies last).
