Saturday, September 7, 2024. Mukai’s Japan Festival this year features taiko drums, mochi pounding, bon dance, a Children’s
Village, arts workshops and even a kimono workshop. We are particularly thrilled that for our Festival Finale, we will be joined by indie pop star singer, songwriter and composer Tomo Nakayama. Plus yummy food!
Our theme this year is Okage Sama De! It means, “It’s all thanks to you,” We feel gratitude to our forebearers and to the larger community for helping make us what we are.
Mukai Farm & Garden, on Vashon Island is one of the last intact pre-WWII Nikkei farmsteads standing in America.
Help us honor the history of the Mukai Farm, gardening in the Japanese tradition and
our Nikkei agricultural legacy. Mukai Farm & Garden is on the National Register of Historic Places.
